Understanding mChek
- What is mChek?
mChek is a safe new way to make payments using your mobile phone. Now you can securely pay for your prepaid mobile phone connection, postpaid mobile bills, flight tickets, insurance premiums, movie tickets, utility bill payments (like Water Bill, Electricity Bill, Telephone Bill, Gas Bill etc.) & transact on e-commerce websites, all without sharing your personal financial information with anyone.

mChek links your mobile phone to your Visa/ Mastercard credit or debit card allowing you to make payments through your mobile phone.

Every transaction using mChek must be authorized from your mobile phone using the 6 digit mChekPIN that you set yourself on your phone and hence is known to nobody else.
mChek is the first company to be PCI DSS 1.2 certified for credit card security and is approved by Visa, MasterCard and by leading banks like ICICI bank, HDFC bank, State Bank of India, Corporation Bank, Citibank, and Standard Chartered etc.

mChek stores your credit card information in a PCI DSS 1.2 certified secure data center which is as secure as the database of a bank.
mChek will NEVER disclose your credit card information to anybody.

No, your Credit card information cannot be tampered with.
mChek stores your credit card information in a certified secure data center which is as secure as the database of a bank, in other words it is tamper proof. Also all pages in mChek's online registration process are protected by best in class encryption technology.
[Top] - How do I ensure that my credit card is not used without my authorization?
Each time you make a payment using mChek you will be requested to authenticate the transaction by entering your 6 digit mChekPIN number on your mobile phone. Your card will be used to make the payment only after you enter the 6 digit pin.
mChek will not process the transaction if the PIN entered is incorrect. After 3 incorrect attempts, your account will be blocked and the card data will be deleted preventing any further transactions to avoid misuse.

mChek links your mobile phone to your Visa/ Mastercard credit or debit card allowing you to make payments through your mobile phone.
Any valid Visa / MasterCard credit or debit card, issued by any bank in India can be used for making mChek transactions.
ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank & Standard Chartered Bank customers can also contact their banks, to issue their debit card on mChek.

mChek works with all mobile service providers (Ex. Airtel, Tata etc).
[Top] - Do I need to have GPRS or EDGE service on my mobile to use mChek?
GPRS and EDGE services are not needed to use mChek. mChek works using only voice and SMS which is available on all phones.
GPRS is needed only to download the mChek application to your phone.
mChek is pre-installed in 'Airtel Live' on all Airtel SIM cards. Contact Airtel for a new SIM card, if the mChek application is not present in your existing SIM card.
Advanced features like money transfer, debit cards, mChekMall etc. require the user to have GPRS subscription.

mChek does not charge for any communication, but operator charges will be applicable, kindly contact your mobile operator to know your SMS tariff.

In case of phone-loss,
1. Contact operator to deactivate your SIM and report phone loss to concerned authorities as you would do normally

Yes, you can use mChek to pay your friend’s / relatives mobile bill. Kindly follow the instructions to pay Airtel bill on behalf of someone else:
Step 1: Send sms ‘PAY AIRTEL [Amount] [Mobile Number]’ to 543219.
For example, to pay Rs. 250 towards your friend’s post-paid bill, send sms ‘PAY AIRTEL 250 9XXXXXXXXX’ to 543219.
You will receive a message, as follows:
Pay: Airtel
Rs. 250
For: 9XXXXXXX
Enter mChekPIN
Step 2: Enter your mChekPIN to authorize the payment
Step 3: Within a few seconds, you will receive a confirmation sms. Your friend too, will receive a confirmation sms of the payment made by you.

For security reasons, you cannot register more than one Credit Card with your mChek account.
However, you can replace the current registered Credit Card. Kindly follow the steps below:

Step 3: Register your new Credit Card details
Step 4: Re-confirm with your mChekPIN
After successful validation, your new Credit Card is registered.
