Gautam Shiknis

Chief Executive Officer

Gautam comes with an extensive background of entrepreneurship/ marketing/ academics and specializes in creating new industries.

An MBA from NMIMS, Mumbai, he started at Saatchi & Saatchi – on launches of top MNC & Indian brands. He was “the best performer” years in a row, and won awards from Procter & Gamble for “outstanding contribution”.

He turned entrepreneur as founder CEO of TheoryM – India’s earliest interactive marketing/ data analytics specialist. TheoryM (started with US$ 500 ) went on to become one of India’s largest Digital Media & Data Analytics players working with Unilever, ICICI Bank, Citibank, Shoppers’ Stop, Raymond, Lakme, Star TV.

In 2005, Gautam ventured into media, as Founder & MD of Palador – currently India’s largest player in “World Cinema”. When Palador started, the category was less than US$ 100k per annum. It now turns over more than US$ 20 million annually. For this pioneering contribution, CNN has recognized Gautam as one of the “Top 20 media professionals to Watch Out for”.

Gautam is active in academics as visiting faculty of NMIMS, Mumbai and Symbiosis, Pune. He has also lectured at numerous universities including SP Jain and the University of Leeds. He is on the mentorship panel of IIT Powai’s Entrepreneurship Cell and the National Entrepreneurs’ Network.

Gautam is also a published author of a critically acclaimed novel, plays the piano & guitar and painted 12 canvasses with oil.

John Kattakayam

President - Operations and Banking Services

John is responsible for the Information security and Management of Operational infrastructure as per Industry quality standards. John comes with more than 14 years of experience in the area of Bank Card Technology and Financial Systems for Both Domestic and International market with a focus on 24/7 Operations, Project Management and Delivery of Service Level Agreements. He has an in-depth knowledge of Switching Systems, Acquiring Networks, Card Life Cycle Management, Quality initiatives like Six Sigma and BS7799, Customer Relationship Management, and various Card Associations (Visa / MasterCard / Amex) Systems.

Being a part of the Founding Member team of Venture Infotek he has successfully implemented and operationalized a pan India Acquiring network and back office for card management system for its international and domestic customer banks including the fraud /delinquency monitoring system. He started his career as a software developer for PoS Terminals and was instrumental in deploying terminals for authorization over X.25 Networks (INET).

Tamal Das

Director - International Business & Product Management

Tamal is responsible for spearheading mChek's international business, right from the partner evaluation and license sales, to business case development, solution design and subsequent launch in markets across the world. At home, Tamal is also responsible for all aspects of product management and product evangelism with clients and partners.

Tamal has almost 12 years of experience in product development and product management. Tamal joined mChek in 2006 as one of the earliest employees, and has been responsible for all platform features and solution set of mChek. He works both with the engineering team at mChek, and with telecom providers, banks, merchants and partners in India and abroad. Prior mChek, he worked for several years in Oracle India, as part of their Oracle Applications team working on products for the A&D and heavy transportation sectors. He was responsible both for aiding customer implementations in Korea, Israel and US and also leading a development team based Bangalore. In parallel, he was also involved in the specifications and design of 2 new products that are being deployed even today across across the world. Prior Oracle, he worked for a year in Talisma, a leading provider of CRM solutions for the government, education, BPO and financial services sectors.

Tamal has a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Indian Institute of Management Bangalore and is a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical and Electronics Engg from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. Tamal is also a street and documentary photographer, and is learning Spanish as his 4th language.

Kush Srivastava

Head of Technology

Kush is responsible for all aspects of product development and technical solution design and delivery to clients and partners in India and abroad.

Kush has almost 9 years of experience in product design and development. Kush joined mChek in 2006 of the earliest employees, and has been responsible for both the platform architecture and technology design at mChek, and also managing the development and delivery team at mChek. He works with the engineering and operations teams at mChek, and with telecom providers, banks and partners in India and abroad as their go-to-person for technology solutions and product delivery. Prior mChek, he worked for Qwest Communications Intl for several years, responsible for architecture, product design and heading a development team for delivering VOIP solutions for clients in USA.

Kush is a Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engg from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, one of the world's premier technology institutes for undergraduate studies. Kush is also a sports aficionado and is himself a brilliant sportsperson.
